The Survey sub-sector, throughout the review, has made some progress toward the improvement of land tenure in the county as outlined herein: Land adjudication for tenure regularization - This was intended to settle the urban dwellers in order to improve the land tenure systems Implementation of adjudication sections was on course with Chengoni, Mazola, Mtaa, and Bursa, Kibandaongo taking centre stage. An average of three hundred plots per section was demarcated and surveyed and a list of beneficiaries was produced. Land survey and mapping - Registration of community lands of Chengoni, Mazola, Mtaa, and Banga, partly has been done, with 300 parcels each having been demarcated. The spatial and attribute data is available. The Trading centers that were partly done include, Kinarini, Kinango, and Lunga Lunga, the major tasks that were carried out included the densification of controls and perimeter boundary establishment. The same couldn’t be carried out in Kanana, MacKinnon road due to Land and boundary dispute problems. Sustainable rangeland management –. In the area of rangeland management, the Mwavumbo group ranch was subdivided under an activity called mutation survey. The ownership rights (communal land ownership), were extinguished to pave the way for individual ownership. A total of four sections/sub-locations were demarcated and surveyed. The spatial and attribute data were also extracted. The Mwereni group ranch work was partly done by defining the size and extent of its boundary. The existing public utilities were also picked and other amenities aid in planning and development. Strategic land banking - 20 parcels of land were purchased to support infrastructure projects and future developments.
