Street lighting is vital for enhancing urban environments by significantly improving safety and quality of life. By increasing daylight hours, it encourages more activity and makes our streets safer for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. Today, together with my Deputy Governor, H.E. Chirema Kombo, I commissioned the installation of solar-powered streetlights along Carrefour-Jacaranda Road in the Bongwe Gombato Ward. We also extended solar-powered lighting along Tandoori-Baobab Beach Road in the Ukunda Ward, Msambweni Subcounty, within Diani Municipality. Present at the meeting were MCA Hon. Tumaini Mwachaunga and Kinondo Ward MCA Hon. Juma Maone. I was accompanied by County Attorney Salim Suleiman Gombeni, Chief Executive Committee members Michael Mutua (Tourism, Trade, and ICT) and Saumu Beja (Land and Environment), Diani Municipal Manager Hamisi Mwandaro, Political Advisor Mshenga Ruga, along with other senior government officials.
